The Quahog (pronounced "ko-hog") is a hard shell clam that is native to the eastern shores of the United States. And with a naturally-rough exterior, it can be accurately and beautifully replicated through the medium of brass – a concept perfectly captured in the Brass Quahog Clam Doorknocker from Michael Healy.
Each of these decorative brass door knockers are the product of the age-old art of sand casting, an artisan practice often lost in lesser mass-produced models.
The Brass Quahog Clam Doorknocker is coated with a baked catalyzed polyurethane to provide all-weather durability that resists rust and corrosion. As a result, maintaining its sheen is simple and requires nothing more than the occasional once-over with a wet sponge and mild soap.
These unique door knockers come complete with two machine screws that enable you to quickly mount them to the surface of any metal or wood door.
